Hello Village East Families!

Welcome to the 2019-2020 school year. I am so excited to start a new chapter in my career as the principal of Village East! I am so honored to have this opportunity to work with the amazing students, staff and families at Village East. We are a diverse community of creators and thinkers that can truly change the world.

As a way to give you a little insight into who I will be as your principal, here are 5 fun facts about me:

• I have 3 amazing kids who are now adults that live on their own – I miss them tremendously! So, I pour a lot of care and concern into the kids I serve in my school.

• I have traveled to 11 different countries – But, I have a fear of flying. It’s important to face your fears!

• My family had a lot of challenges when I was growing up. This has made me resilient and given me a belief that I can accomplish anything – no matter where you come from

• I treasure being able to find the brilliance in all students

• I have found some pretty effective ways to engage parents. You know you have an all-star team that will accomplish great things when parents-teachers and students partner together.

My goals for this school year is to continue the great practices that have already been established at Village East and discover ways to accelerate student achievement even more. We will need to create a new vision together. I hope you will join me in its creation. I am looking forward to our work together! I just have one simple ask of you, please introduce yourself when I see you so that I can get to know each and everyone of you.
